Nipple hypertrophy, macrothelia, or swollen nipples, is a rare disorder with an unknown cause. Nipple reduction surgeries have little or no downtime. However, frequently, nipple reduction accompanies another breast procedure like breast augmentation or reduction which demand a couple of days to settle. Your breasts may feel sore for a day or two. It is likely that you will be discharged on the same day.
